What team?

I feel like we're the only family that wants our kids to love sports. Maybe it's because both of us were forced to play sports when we were little and we want the same for our kids? Or maybe it's because our kids are too hyper and we realize sports get their energy out, regardless we told our kids they have to play at least one sport. Most of our kids are ok with it and already know what sport they want to do, Brooke is married to gymnastics and Tyson wants to play any sport he can, literally he asks me all the time what the next sport is and I'm just hoping to make it through tball season. For now with most of their teams being coed it's working out fine, but I know one day it won't be this easy. The moment I'm forced to choose if my little ones play for the boy team or girl team I know it will cause tears. I've already heard of other transgender children who are forced to play for the biological gender's team instead of the gender they identify with. The thought of doing that to Callie kills me, she's afraid to like a sport because she doesn't want to play on the boy team. Could you imagine being afraid to try because of a team you might end up on? Obviously when it comes to that point Jason and I will be ready to fight, but I have to start thinking of it now so I can be prepared. I'm hoping by the time we get to that point we don't have to worry about it and it's already taken care of, but I know that's not going to happen so I'm hoping as my daughter grows up I can count on all of you guys reading this to have her back and helps us with this fight. This fight takes more than our family, more than Jazz Jennings, and Caitlyn Jenner it takes everyone. We need as many voices as we can get to let people know that transgender people aren't freaks and they deserve so much more than what they are getting. Please join us in our fight to get kids the right to play for the team they seems fit not force them to play for a team that they don't want to be on.
